Core Battery Team

Christian has more than 15 years of experience along the battery value chain as M&A and Commercial Director for Johnson Matthey Battery Materials as well as Senior Business Development Manager for SGL Carbon. Christian completed two Master studies and holds a degree in Economics from university of Essen and a degree in Industrial Chemistry from university of Münster, where he specialized in Batteries at MEET institute. He also worked at BASF and Evonik for several years during his studies. Beside Chem4Batteries Christian holds a Senior Battery Advisiory role at Roland Berger.

Jonas has Master’s in chemistry and a PhD in Electrochemistry from Justus-Liebig Universität Gießen, he brings over seven years of hands-on experience battery research. His expertise lies in benchmarking and high throughput testing of materials, driving advancements in upcoming battery technologies. Jonas is passionate about powering innovation through industry collaboration, leading customer projects with industry and academia to push the boundaries battery innovations.

Background with Tesla, Panasonic, and Northvolt, now supporting clients at Chem4Batteries with strategy, benchmarking, and industrialization of battery technologies.

Muhammad worked as scientific researcher at technical university of Berlin, MEET Battery Research Center and DECHEMA Forschung. He also gained scientific experience working at Max Planck Institute. Muhammad holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg and a BS Engineering from university of the Punjab. Currently he finishs his Phd.

We offer end-to-end consulting and training across the entire battery value chain, assisting clients with business strategy, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, technology licensing, and technology transfer. We guide clients through partner selection, contract negotiation, and execution, and can serve as interim experts when required. Our expertise covers everything from raw materials to cathode and anode production, cell manufacturing, and battery recycling. Additionally, our experts conduct on-site workshops focused on laboratory validation and battery cell manufacturing processes. Leveraging our in-depth industry knowledge, we enable organizations to achieve their strategic objectives, adapt to market changes, and address challenges within the battery sector.
Benchmarking & Prototyping
We offer comprehensive benchmarking and prototyping services focused on advancing battery technologies. Our team brings extensive expertise in material benchmarking, product validation, battery cell formulation development, and the fabrication of battery prototype cells across diverse chemistries and formats to accommodate specific client requirements. Utilizing our internal high-throughput testing, we efficiently assess multiple samples simultaneously, expediting both material selection and cell formulation processes. Furthermore, we deliver thorough battery cell teardown analysis. These services are intended to expedite product development cycles, lower costs, and improve industry competitiveness when measured against industry benchmarks.
Products & Manufacturing Service
We work with leading Asian battery companies to manufacture battery materials, coated electrodes and supply equipment for battery cell production. Our proprietary LFP and LMFP cathode powders are produced under contract by our partner Anda, achieving an annual output of several hundred thousand tons. Additionally, our state-of-the-art electrode coating lines facilitate electrode fabrication with an annual capacity of 1.0 GWh. Furthermore, we maintain an exclusive partnership with SZJ, a distinguished supplier of battery cell manufacturing equipment. Our comprehensive services are designed to efficiently support cell manufacturing scale-up by minimizing capital expenditure and operational risks, while providing access to essential technologies and expertise.
